In curating the music program for TOAF, there was a desire to work with some of the best independent labels, stores, and artists in New York; the DJs performing in the resulting lineup embody the multidisciplinary approach of so many artists in New York; playing at The Other Art Fair provides an opportunity for them to stretch their sound and play selections that they normally would not be able to play in a club environment.

For his own set during the Private Viewing, expect Theodore to play an eclectic mix, including left-field gems, strange pop, rare groove, obscure film scores, and, of course, the necessary Sade deep cut.

Maman opened its doors in Soho in October 2014. Quickly embraced by New York locals and international visitors, the café, restaurant & event space has flourished with multiple locations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, & Toronto. Maman (mother in french) is a melding of the founding partners – benjamin sormonte and elisa marshall - fondest childhood memories in the kitchen – especially recipes from their mothers – combined with their mutual passion for delivering quality food and a flawless experience within an artful and warm setting.

NEON COLLECTIVE

Brooklyn based neon artists Kate Hush, Valerie Shusterov, and Dana Caputo transforms the fair entrance into a stunning neon display.

OVERALL MURALS: SIGN PAINTING

Brooklyn's talented outdoor mural team bring art to life with their live painting experience in the fair's outdoor area.

Overall Murals, Inc. represents a new generation of sign painters and muralists that both reflects and shapes contemporary visual culture. From graphic design and street art to the age-old, intimate craft of hand painting, Overall Murals synthesizes the inspiration, techniques, and practical know-how to make art with impact on a grand scale.

Artist Dmitry Pankov and media professional Angel Saemai launched Overall Murals in 2010, to showcase their combined strengths and experience in fine art and advertising. Their in-house team of talented, international, multidisciplinary artists constantly seek new ways to experiment, grow, and realize client ideas; employing a unique blend of both traditional analog and modern digital techniques. Overall’s objective is to leverage their artistic training to produce superior-quality commercial design work that also embodies their core aesthetic values.

THE SKETCHBOOK PROJECT

The Sketchbook Project is an independent Brooklyn-based company that organizes global, collaborative art projects. Our flagship endeavor is The Sketchbook Project, a crowd-sourced library that features 36,347 artists' books contributed by creative people from 135+ countries. Brooklyn Art Library is our storefront exhibition space in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY where The Sketchbook Project collection is on view to the public.

VAN LEEUWEN ICE CREAM

Indulge in artisanal hand made vegan ice cream by New York's favorite Van Leeuwen from their yellow ice cream truck.

Van Leeuwen artisan ice cream started in the Spring of 2008 out of a buttery yellow truck on the streets of NYC. They set out to revive the classic American ice cream truck and the art of traditional ice cream making using ingredients perfected by nature, not science. Van Leeuwen Classic and Vegan ice creams are made with just a handful of fresh ingredients. Each flavor is a celebration of some of the world's best artisan producers and farmers both local and from around the world.
